What’s your shape?

Shopping for swimwear can be intimidating sometimes considering what you see on social media versus reality. At Adicora we believe that everyone can wear high end swimwear, it’s just a matter of finding the right shapes for your body, and what you feel comfortable in. It is very important to pinpoint what your body shape is, this makes it a lot easier to shop online for all of your summer favorites. Because being comfortable in your swimwear is definitely the most important aspect!
In this article we will be talking about different common body shapes, and what swimwear is most commonly the most flattering based on that body type. This is just a guide, if you feel more confident or comfortable in styles we didn’t mention, then rock it!

Rectangle body shape

What is a rectangle body shape? This is essentially when your shoulders and hips are a bit more narrow, causing your body to lose the “hourglass” shape. The key here is to accentuate your waist to give that waist snatch affect. A great way to achieve this is one pieces. Our Cleo and Faena are two suits that really suck you in the mid section and give you an hourglass shape. Our other one pieces such as the Aston and Martin, Dune and Moxy, and Cielo and Tutti can give you this same affect.

Rounded body shape

If you have a rounded body shape, this is characterized by a rounder silhouette, with a fuller bust and broader shoulders than hips, and a less defined waist. A great option for this body type is a wider band bottom, high waisted bottom, and a supportive but flattering top. We have many wide band bottom option with either a flirty ruffled plunge top or the classic triangle bikini top. The Arcoiris is a great option, as well as the Sian and Laren with our wide band options.

Hourglass body shape

With an hourglass body shape, this means your waist is small with a larger bust/shoulder and wider hips. This body type is a bit simpler to style, a two piece is a great option or a one piece that still shows your waist would work beautifully for your body. The key with an hourglass figure is to make sure you don’t cover your waist as this is a great asset to have!

Triangle body shape

Triangle body is a quite common shape that we see in woman. This means your hips are the widest body area, we often hear this is a tricky body shape to have as typically these women need a larger bottom than a top. Thankfully, here at Adicora you can purchase your bottoms and tops separately giving you the freedom to choose sizes that work best for your top and bottom. The main factor to remember with a triangle shape is to draw attention to your bust to even out the proportions. A wide band bottom option is also great for triangle shaped bodies, an attractive bandeau-style top would be a great option to pair the bottoms with. Vibrant colors and beautiful patterns naturally draw the eye to your bust giving that even out affect. Our Rodeo two piece immediately comes to mind when I think about the perfect swimmy for this body shape.

Inverted triangle body shape

Our last body type to touch on is one characterized by wider shoulders and a slimmer waste. Most commonly found in athletes, but don’t let this deter you from wearing cute swimwear. A great option for this body type is a simple top with a classic Brazilian bottom that ties on the side to widen the hip area. Any of our tie bottoms would give you this affect, like our Rodeo with string bottoms or Tyre with string bottoms.
